I’m Rob, and I’m excited to welcome you to Our Fit Family. As an entrepreneur who works from home, I’ve poured my heart and soul into my family and our business. However, this year, as I approach my 47th birthday, I’ve realized that in the process, I’ve neglected something incredibly important: my health.
My Journey So Far
Growing up, I was always active. I was a high school swimmer, played football, and even worked as a lifeguard. Fitness was a natural part of my life. But over the years, as I dedicated more time to my family and building our business, I slowly let my health take a backseat.
Now, I find myself with a gut and no endurance, spending most of my days sitting at a computer. The constant demands of work have consumed my thoughts and time, making it feel almost impossible to “turn off” and focus on myself.
The Wake-Up Call
The turning point for me came with the realization that if I don’t take control of my health now, I risk losing even more of it. Living with ulcerative colitis has its challenges, and during flare-ups, all I can think about is wanting my health back. This has made me appreciate just how crucial it is to prioritize my well-being.
Setting Boundaries and Goals
I know that creating boundaries is essential to prevent my work from completely taking over my life. I need to carve out time for exercise and self-care, just as I do for my family and business. My ultimate goal is to regain both my mind and body, to find that balance where I can be productive and healthy.
Looking Ahead
As I start on this journey, I aim to share my experiences, challenges, and progress with you. I want to inspire others who might be in a similar situation to take that first step towards a healthier, fitter life. Health truly is wealth, and I’m committed to making it a priority.
Thank you for joining me on this journey. Let’s support each other and strive for a vibrant, active lifestyle together.
